Knitting advice please?
May. 6th, 2010 02:13 pmI got my silk lace yarn!
It's greener now than it was on the internet. (The picture on the internet was a light "navy". The skein I got is very "olive". Is that why they call the color "navy olive"?)
I checked and it will match a lot of my clothes. I probably don't have the patience to return it, and I certainly do have the cash to buy other colorways later. I may or may not have the time to knit multiple scarves.
So I think I'm looking for advice on getting it out of a skein and into a ball. If I put it on the back of a chair and start winding it around my fingers, will it take forever and ever and ever to wind 1100 yards into a ball? Will it become horribly irretrievably tangled? Will you let me use your Deskeining Device in exchange for bread?
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
