Turnip Report
Nov. 5th, 2017 01:05 pmCheese Fest at the armory yesterday. Very crowded, but lots of tasting and the 20 minute "classes" were nice opportunities to sit down with a few scraps of cheese and listen to a farmer/cheese maker be interviewed about his process.
Also, I got to watch Lourdes Smith do a mozzarella making demonstration. As good as her croissants are, I wish there were more sources of stracciatella mozzarella in my world. I am very much in love with that woman!
Fire + Ice downtown was not as good. I've mastered getting multiple little plates of food rather than one large plate with a weird sauce combination, but it took forever to get us seated and our server was notable by their extended absence. On the up side, the server for the next table over rescued us, and the guy who whisked away piles of ingredients to the vegetarian grill was very accessible and proactive.
Of course there is a Ghirardelli's in Faneuil Hall. Too bad they were playing Christmas music.
