Exciting Ubuntu Project!

My laptop won't talk to the video projector.  I've Googled and sudo'ed and edited /etc/X11/something.conf and it still doesn't work.  There's no guarantee that the hardware's even capable of talking to a projector.

Anyone out there enjoy a challenge?  I can pay in bread!
