Ask LJ: Knitting socks
Sep. 27th, 2010 08:48 pmThis information is probably on the web somewhere but is not trivial to find.
I have a pattern for a European size 40 sock, and I want to knit a European size 35. I have instructions for decreasing the girth of the sock by 1cm and know how to decrease length.
What's the difference in foot girth between a European 40 and a European 35? Equivalently, what's the difference in girth between an American 9 and an American 5.5? Length difference would also be helpful but is less urgently needed.
Feel free to respond with personal foot measurements; it will amuse me.
