Turnip Report
Nov. 28th, 2011 07:21 pmThe farmshare has ended and I have freezer space! It remains to be seen whether I'll figure out anything to do with the 3 squash in my fridge before they go soggy.
Today's recipe: American Ayeb Begomen. It's about as Ethiopian as American Chop Suey is Chinese, but it's definitely food.
Combine in microwave safe dish:
1 T butter
1/8 t cayenne pepper
1/12 t garlic powder
1/12 t cardamom
1/12 t white pepper
(Or you could spill the white pepper in, dump it out, then try to compensate for the other spices lost. I don't recommend that.)
Microwave for 20 sec. or until the butter is melted.
Stir well.
Add:
1/2 lb cottage cheese
1 c cooked peas
Stir.
Eat.
