Cooking again
Dec. 30th, 2010 06:21 pmI've been too busy playing World of Warcraft to deal with the vegetables piling up in my fridge. Time to do something about that...

Mashed potatoes are yummy, and adding turnips might not ruin them. Two recipes, because I want to cook the roots in the microwave but like the idea of adding parmesan.
Edit: Cube equal parts turnips and potatoes. Cover with water and cook in microwave until done (~18 minutes). Add butter, salt, milk and seasoning to taste. 1 turnip ~ 2 c.
Would probably taste better without the turnip, but then I wouldn't have gotten rid of the turnip.
Edit again, 1/3: Vastly improved by freezing and thawing. Maybe the flavors needed time to blend?
