The strawberries ended up in yogurt cups in the freezer and turned into smoothies. This is less exciting than jam, but infinitely more practical.

The bok choi with garlic scapes and butter is so strongly flavored it's not a side dish, it's a seasoning. It makes good burritos and acceptable omelettes.

The flying saucer squash got made into cream of summer squash soup along with a summer squash. That's still a really good recipe.

The lettuce, carrots and scallions got made into salad (with cherry tomatoes and cucumber added) and given to a friend who invited me to dinner. I feel a little guilty about sticking them with all the leaves, but at least they're not rotting in *my* fridge.

One flying saucer squash still in the fridge; not sure what to make of it.

I've been fooling around with Amazon's wishlist feature. My family's gift giving has degenerated into a system of asking each other what gift to give, and I always draw a blank when put on the spot. So, when my father asked what I wanted for my birthday I referred him to Amazon.

Alas, I gave the wrong account name.

Before I return the DVDs he sent, does anyone have an interest in (or think that I should have an interest in):

Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even
Tower of Terror
The Hills (first season)
Law & Order (fourth year)
ER (eighth season)
