I fried the fennel bulb and ate it with salt. The recipe said to caramelize it, so I guess I screwed up, but it was tasty and now it's gone so I have no regrets.

In a perfect world, I'd boil, puree then freeze the greens and use the water they were boiled in to make veggie broth with the carrots and fennel tops. We'll see how far I get with that.
