Sidekick suggestions?

mathhobbitSo my 99 year old grandmother will be staying in the nursing home she's now at rather than returning to her apartment after a couple months.
I have an inkling of a plan to give her a hexapod on Tuesday with instructions to send it out visiting to bring back pictures of itself doing fun stuff. Would anyone care to offer comments on, suggestions for, or critiques of this plan?
I know she's supposed to eventually have a frame that displays digital photos in her room. I don't know how easy it is to transfer photos to that frame. I don't know if her friends have digital or even analog cameras. But, heck, might as well try it and see what happens!
