A woman with the lung capacity to converse throughout a three hour rock concert deserves a better vocabulary.

Ooof. I am sad that you had to deal with that annoyance during the concert.

A "gypsy moth little wormy thing" is a caterpillar, right? How could she know "gypsy moth" and not "caterpillar"?

Or larva. Sometimes I just can't find the right word, and flail and use some awkward substitute. Sometimes I see/hear parents offering their kid-in-stroller a pinecone and saying it's an acorn ...

She said it twice. I've been calling them caterpillars.

I am horrified by the story about the pine cone. That's like something I might do, and I'm clearly not qualified to have children.
