It turns out that lentil poridge isn't a thing, so I have to come up with a new name for the recipe.  I guess I keep the name vospov khema even if I can't pronounce it.

Today's plan is granola bars.

Edit:  Turns out granola bars are candy.  I should have known.

More like cookies than candy IMO, but yeah, pretty fancy "all natural ingredients" cookies.

This recipe had me heat butter, honey, and brown sugar until the brown sugar dissolved, then pour it over the granola. That's too close to candy making for my comfort! Next time I'll experiment with one of the "glue it all together with date guts" recipes.

(Not that I dislike candy -- in fact, I like it too well!)

I was thinking of the high grain content as cookie-like, but the construction and lack of eggs is much more candy-like, indeed.

Dried dates are pretty candy-like without any help. Om nom nom.

Nomming all the dates is less dangerous than making caramel in the microwave. I now suspect it's possible (and maybe easy?) to make caramel in the microwave.
