Safety or Freedom?

If I'm reading this article right, the Supreme Court has ruled that habeas corpus doesn't apply to sex offenders.  In fact, it looks like they think it's constitutional to jail anyone indefinitely if they might be a "danger" to a "community".

Can someone with more clue than my 7th grade social studies class provides me please sanity check my interpretation?
